Question: Stomach gases which are trapped and sometimes warm gases are passing. Trapped gases cause noises in stomach and I get restless and have to walk and excersize.Stomach gases which are trapped and sometimes warm gases are passing. Trapped gases cause noises in stomach and I get restless and have to walk and excersize to get them out, I have trapped gases 24/7. With this I have stomach cramps as well and sometime constipation and some times loose stool not watery but loose, fried things I can't eat. I had many stool tests and hpylori in blood and stool both were negative. Few yeast cells were in my stool in my last stool report . Sometimes when I pass stool my rectum is little irritated and I feel wet from inside although I don't have any piles issue or hemmoroids . What seems to be issue or any colon infection that creates this gas again and again.

Brief Answer:
IBS or specific disease

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thank for your query.

To recapitulate: Young Male/*26 - trapped gases 24/7 - borborygmi (noises) cramps - warm gases pass out sometimes - alternating constipation and loose motions - can not tolerate fried foods - blood, stool tests negative - irritated rectum on passage of stool - Wants to know the issue.

You have so well put-up the history that it looks to be a case of IBS meaning Irritable bowel syndrome.

I would suggest you the following:
- 5 day course of an antibiotic, metronidazole; long term pre and probiotics, multivitamins, activated charcoal tablets.
- See the results, if there is relief you will be better; if no results then further tests of CT scan of the abdomen and upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy is needed.
If all the tests are negative, this again suggests IBS and proper treatment can help to get you the cure.
- If the tests are positive for some certain disease, these can be properly and accurately treated.
- Make a list of foods and beverages that suit you the best and to consume only these.
- To rule out thyroid and diabetes issues.
- To keep the stress and the anxiety under control.

All these things done preferably under the guidance of a Gastroenterologist will help you to get a proper diagnosis and proper treatment.

I hope this answer helps you, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you need to or if you feel that there is a gap of communication.

Hi.

I have added my test result that were done 2 weeks back almost, other then this i went for complete abdomen utlra sound today that was all normal. Is it possible that i go ct scan of abdomen only if there is any issue and what will be diagnosed from ct scan. Mr dr told me 3 months back to take mevebirine tablets for 2 weeks which i did. Before 6 months i did course of 21 days pantoprazole as that time i was not able to take proper burp after eating but that issue was resolved. I some time take disflatyl for gases and noises in my stomach which even vibrates my rectum. I am almost fedup and no hope is there

I will go for anti biotic from tommorow and will let you know if i get any relief.

Thanks for help .

Brief Answer:
Best to do CT scan as well.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
There is always be a hope and most of the diseases and disorders can be controlled, cured and the quality of life well improved, believe me.

Your reports are not uploaded, waiting to be seen. Please upload it again. Alternatively, you may mail it to YYYY@YYYY

Ultrasound is a nice screening, finds many of the problems but it is always prudent to go for CT scan as this may find those problems that the ultrasound can not show. Every investigation has its own limitations.

You have not mentioned the benefits that you gained from Mebeverine and the dosages you were given.

Nice to know Pantoprazole helped you, you may repeat if the symptoms recur.

Diflatyl: try to understand that if there are gases, they will cause rumbling, this is the effect of it. We have to treat gases.

Once of the most common reason for gases is aerophagia, meaning inadvertent swallowing of the air and usually occurs during stress and/or anxiety. I hope you must have observed that your symptoms increase if such situations. If yes, then the control of stress and/or anxiety is part of the treatment as again believe me you do not loose anything by changing the lifestyle to suit your personality, say no to the things that instigate or enhance your problems, live the way that makes 'you' comfortable - what is your opinion.

Waiting for your feedback and response.
