Brief Answer:
Congestive heart failure is a chronic condition...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Unfortunately congestive heart failure is a chronic condition. You need to be on strict diet and life style modification along with fluid restriction to prevent acute worsening. Depending on the severity of acute condition that took you to the hospital, the current symptoms may improve over a period of few weeks. But in a few individuals it may take longer than couple of months.
A question to here: What was your latest ejection fraction?

It is more important that you follow the doctors instruction carefully with regards to fluid and water restriction. You have a higher chance to recover faster when you follow those restrictions religiously.

Besides the general instruction, I do not see a water pill (diuretic) in the list of your medicines. This is one drug that drains fluid from heart and lungs out. It also helps in preventing acute flare ups. If there are no contraindications, I feel your doctor should start it. Discuss with your treating doctor.

Hope this answers your query. Let me know if you need clarifications.

Regards
