Question: Hi I have been dealing with a congestion(the worst is in the morning) problem for over a year ( i used to hack up light yellowish green but it sometimes comes out black) it's followed by shortness of breath and a inhaler works most of the time but sometimes it takes a breathing treatment here recently I have been experiencing throat tightness and it's quite irritating and I also sometimes regurgitate my food shortly after eating it almost feels as though the food is pushing it's way back up. Any idea

Brief Answer:
pharyngitis secondary to repeated clearing of throat, reflux esophagitis

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns that you are having throat tightness.

Based on your clinical details, it appears to be pharyngitis secondary to repeated clearing of throat ( greenish sputum) and reflux esophagitis.

I suggest the following measures to overcome your throat tightness.

1. stop clearing the throat.

2. steam inhalation.

3. start ppi inhibitor + pro kinetic combination ( pan- d) ( pantoprazole + domperidone twice daily before food ( half an prior).

4. you need to reconsult your treating doctor for another course of antibiotic and anti fungals for yellowish black sputum (if need be).

5. start anti allergic prophylactic medications like tab. lukotas- lc ( cetrizine + montelukast ) daily one tab at bed time.

Kindly discuss about the instructions and medications with your treating doctor, as these are to be taken under medical supervision.

Hope this answers your question, if you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.
