Hope the Cold sore diagnosis is confirmed by a doctor.It is caused by herpes simplex virus (HSV 1 or 2).
These can be transmitted by skin to skin contact or by kiss or as STDs.
You may consult your doctor for antiviral drugs like acyclovir 200 mg 5 times a day for 5-7 days.
Clean area with water and apply topical antiviral cream like acyclovir .
They are known for recurrence.
