Brief Answer:
Viral RTI are frequent in changing season

Detailed Answer:
Hi Dear
Welcome to the HCM,
In this changing rainy season the Viral Respiratory Tract Infections are quite common. Some times 6 to 12 times a year. So need not to be panic.
Antihistaminic decongestant medicines along with paracetamol like sinarest to be given on eight hourly basis.
Bronchodilator like salbutamol also be to be added to ease the vigrous cough.
Nebulization with bronchodilators or some times with steroids like budicort will help in relieving the symptoms quickly.
Steam inhalation also helps.
If there is breathing difficulty and severe cough is associated with fever then one should also consider giving relevant antibiotic with the consultation of your pediatrician.
Improve the immunity of your child with high protien diet.
Add multivitamins(Like zincovit) and iron syrups (tonoferon drops) on regular basis.
Avoid contact with the infected persons/children who are already suffering with the viral infections.
Sneezing/ coughing/contact with the infected hankies etc to be avoided.
Hope the query is answered.
Please feel free for the further clarification.
