Clean with povidone iodine solution and use mupirocin/neomycin ointment...

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for posting the query

This seems to be inflammation of the ear lobe secondary to the foreign body in the ear.

My suggestion to you is to clean the area with povidone iodine solution and try using neomycin or mupirocin ointment along with oral antibiotic such as cefuroxime. You can continue taking tramadol 2 times a day or diclofenac sodium (if you are not allergic to this medicine) for pain.

Hope I have answered your query; I will be available for the follow-up queries.

ok, I'll follow up with my PCP for the antibiotic. Do I have to worry about it needing to be drained?

Brief Answer:
Clean with antiseptic solution (povidone iodine)...

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for writing back

Cleaning the ear with povidone iodine antiseptic solution will stop the drainage from the ear. Apply antiseptic cream over the inflammation site, this will reduce the inflammation and arrest the discharge.

Hope this clears your doubts.

Wish you good health and good luck.
