Suggest Treatment For Chronic Insomnia For Over 21plus

Question: Hi. I have beeb experiencing chronic insomnia for over 21plus years. My doctors have prescribed 10 mg ambient, valiums, etc. Nothing seems to do the trick. Do you have any new med that are working. Thank you.

I think, you have chronic insomnia and in that case, you should avoid benzodiazepine due to their tolerance effect. You can try some sedative antidepressant like mirtazapine or sedative antipsychotic like olanzapine at low dose. You can also try melotonin or ramelteon that acts through sleep circadian rhythm. These drugs have less tolerance or dependence pattern. Rest, you can discuss with your doctor.
