Suggest Treatment For Chlamydia And Gonorrhea

Question: Hello doctor. I want to kno if taking oflin 200 me tablet for 5 days cure chlamydia and gonorrhea. Or percin 600 me tablet better than oflin 200. Please suggest any other tablet used in treat meet of chlamydia and gonorrhea.

Brief Answer: Azithromycin and cefixime are the drugs of choice. Detailed Answer: Hi, Welcome to HCM Thanks for posting your query. With ofloxacin and pefloxacin failure rate for Gonorrhea is common. This has no effect for Chlamydia. Azithromycin is the drug which can cover both Gonorrhea and Chlamydia. A statum dose is enough. Tablet Cefixime 400mg and Injection Ceftrixone are potent on Gonorrhea. Doxycyclin is an alternative for azithromycin to treat Chlamydia.Before which you have to confirm the diagnosis and the treatment has to be taken under the supervision or guidance from a genito-urinary physician or a Dermato-venereologist. Thanks you doctor. I have had a course of doxy -1 hyclate 100 tab.. for seven days earlier. Is that enough for chlamydia and gonorrhea. I am not sure if I have contracted chlamydia or gonorrhea. It is just my fear I read it on the Internet. I have no symptoms at all. Please suggest me the name for the tests for both so that I can get it done immediately.

Brief Answer: Doxycyclin for a week is inadequate. Urine culture Detailed Answer: Hi, Welcome back. Self medication is not at good. With a guidance of physician treatment have to be instituted. Tests for chlamydia and Gonorrhea includes urine examination and Culture and sensitivity. After a course of antibiotics these tests are not reliable. Cap Doxycyclin has to be taken for not less than 2 weeks at a stretch. Kindly consult your Physician Dr S.Murugan

Thank you doctor. I have done my urine examination and culture also. The tests were normal. I did the urine test before taking doxy. Urine test was for my general check up annually I do. So does this mean I need not have to worry. Urine examination no wbc or pus cells everything normal. Urine culture no growth . I was just worried and took the course of tab. I will not repeat it. Please let me know can I stop worrying about chlamydia and gonorrhea.
