Brief Answer:
Symptomatic treatment

Detailed Answer:
Welcome To HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I understand your concern.
Chikungunya is a viral infection and is a self limiting disease.
The fever shall subside in next 2-3 days but joint pain may persist for long.

He may also develop itching and rashes over the body.

Dolo 650 is the best and safest possible medicine for Chikungunya.

No antibiotics are required. No other special Medicines are required.

In case of itching he can be given Hydroxyzine (Atarax) tablets.

I would advice for him plenty of fluids including ORS, Juices , Coconut water.

This is all what we need to do at this stage.

Now for precautions, other family members need to take precautions. Kill all the mosquitoes at home and use mosquito net to sleep.

I hope it helps you.
If you have any further query, please ask me.

Brief Answer:
Fluids

Detailed Answer:
Yes, the symptoms points towards Chikungunya only but the test comes positive after a week of treatment.
You can give him normal food to eat as well as lots of fruits and home prepared fruit juices.
Weakness would go away with time. Fluids and adequate rest is the key.
I hope it helps you.
I wish him a speedy recovery.

Brief Answer:
Get other tests done

Detailed Answer:
Hi, Dolo 650 can be given every 6 hourly but if fever is not there that doesn't mean that it is not chikungunya.
You may get his Complete blood count, Dengue NS-1, Malaria Antigen and Typhi Dot done to be sure, that he doesn't have these infections.
Take Care.

Thanks for the reply, he is having pain in joints and weakness along with body itching with normal fever for the last 24hours. What body ointment can relief this and how long does it more take to recover. Can we go for blood test now and wait for some more time 24 hours i mean. His appetite is also not that much as he is taking only juice and light food. Please suggest.

Brief Answer:
Will be fine soon.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Your father's symptoms pronounce like Chikungunya only.
As discussed previously chikungunya test comes positive after a week only.
However you can get his Malaria , Dengue , Typhoid done today.
For itching no creams are indicated I prefer to you Tab Atarax 10 mg thrice daily.
Appetite would improve with his recovery.
