Brief Answer:
Cataract surgery is not dangerous in your case you can undergo.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care magic

I am Dr. DADAPEER K, an Ophthalmologist and I will be answering your question.

I reviewed your history.

It seems from the history that you are having cataract with high myopia and retinal tears.

You can undergo cataract surgery this will not cause any problems. But I would advice you to go for laser treatment for retinal tear either before or after cataract surgery.

Hope I have answered your question and the information is helpful to you.

Thank you

Hello
Thank you for the follow up question.

Retinal tears occur because of high myopia as in your case as a result of retinal degeneration.
Reading a lot does not cause retinal tears.
Treatment by laser will prevent complications of retinal tears like retinal detachment.
