Question: My cat bit me yesterday. I did not wash the bite as I was sleeping. When I woke up the back of my hand was red and swollen. I iced it and applied Voltaren. It is much better today but still swollen and warm to the touch. Should I seek medical help?

Brief Answer:
You definitely need to seek medical help

Detailed Answer:
Hi

You definitely need to seek medical help. Even if the cat is domesticated by you, anti Rabies vaccine prophylaxis needs to be considered. Also the swelling and erythema over the hand suggest possibility of cellulitis. Antibiotic are needed for cat bite associated cellulitis.
I would suggest you to consult your local area Physician at earliest for consideration of anti Rabies vaccine.

Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Take care
