Suggest Treatment For Calf Muscle Pain

default
Posted on Mon, 21 Sep 2015
Question: I have had calf muscle pain since February. It started with i turned my foot sideways and kicked at a slide/lock on a lift chair to get it loose. It has progressively gotten worse thru the months and now I can hardly walk on it. Last night I had tingling into my foot for a little bit but it did go away. Walking use to help loosen it up as well as swimming but now they seem to aggravate it more. What can I do to fix the muscle?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

You may need to consider a prolonged period of resting the muscle and affected areas as much as possible.
Though you indicated that you rested it before, you would need to restart, avoid unnecessarily walking and no swimming or any other exercises for now.

With muscle injuries from athletes to persons just active at home, rest would be an essential component, just the stretching exercises intermittently.

All unnecessary activity should be limited for a few weeks. In addition to rest to allow for repair, you can also consider adding an anti inflammatory pain killer to help reduce any inflammation in the muscle along with a muscle relaxant.

EG of anti inflammatory pain killers -ibuprofen, naproxen, diclofenac, ketoprofen

Eg of muscle relaxants are flexeril, XXXXXXX robaxin

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
