Question: Hi,

I have a question about genital warts, I heard in men genital warts can be barley seen and don't necessarly look cauliflower in shape just tiny bumps that are skin color.

I have at least one of these bumps on my penis head, and when I zoom in with HD camera, I see it as well as at least 6 other bumps like it throughput my penis head, also I see small streaks of skin colored raised bumps around tip of my penis.

I noticed the one bump 1 week after having full protected vaginal intercourse with a CSW, the bumps don't seem to get bigger but there is no doubt in my mind they are there. I have no other symptoms at all, I have checked and triple checked everything.

2 questions:
A. is it possible that I got genital warts to pass through the condom to my penis tip? the protection was on throughout the act
B. Does genital warts show up after 1 week of exposure?

please help this is killing me , I have a faithful one partner for past 10 years and I don't want to pass anything on to her.

Brief Answer:
Genital warts can not pass through the condoms.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.

I can understand your concern for genital warts after the episode.

I have gone through the complete history as well as the picture and after analyzing both, let me reassure you first that there are no any signs of genital warts in yourself.

Regarding genital warts : these are acuminate or thorn like or rough projections over the affected skin. In your picture we can not find such kind of appearance.

Over and above of all genital warts can not pass through the condoms. Condoms if used properly then are the best source of protection. Even if not used properly then the chances of warts are more at the base of the penis. I can make out that your part of concern is the glans penis which is almost always covered by condom.

So you got the answer to your question that condoms provide the best protection. I have never in my patients acquiring genital warts despite using a condom.

Above and all, it takes minimal period of 2-3 weeks or longer to show up the genital warts. One week is quite very short period for the manifestation of the warts.

I hope this information will help you. If you have further queries I will be glad to help.

Dr.

thanks for the response, I have attached more pictures, are you absolutely sure there is nothing there?

How can you explain the bumps? I uploaded another super close up with HD camera, you can see the bumps. If I rotate the penis head I CAN SEE that some of the bumps are raised from the surface unlike the rest of the skin on the penis head.

What if I had a weak immune system maybe warts show up after a week, I had influenza a week before this encounter.

thanks again , I just want to make sure and be responsible to may partner.

Brief Answer:
These bumps appears to be basically proliferation of the oil glands.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome back and thanks a lot for your swift follow up.

I have analyzed all the pictures and can make out smooth eruptions in one of the picture. These bumps appears to be basically proliferation of the oil glands. I suggest you to keep a watch over the area. Though it is practically unlikely to get any infection after the use of the condom.

Even if there is weak immune system then also one requires a medium of infection form one person to other. As your intercourse was totally protected so it is unlikely to get any kind wart infection.

I hope this information will help you. If you have further queries I will be glad to help.

thanks SO MUCH Doctor! One last question:

If this was a wart, it would grow over time and not stay the same size correct?

YOU have no idea how much this was bothering me...

as long as you don't think its warts I am happy, I probably had these for long time , but only started looking with a "magnifying glass" after exposure...

Brief Answer:
In warts there are more eruptions along with increase in size.

Detailed Answer:
Dear young fellow,

Welcome back and thanks a lot for your swift response.

I am really happy to know that you are relaxed now. In warts there are more and more eruptions are seen in near by areas along with increase in size which would not happen in your case.

I quite often counsel your kind of cases where the person becomes excessively conscious after the incidence. This itself cause more anxiety and person start exploring one or the other things which were present even before the incidence.

So stop worrying and just relax.

I hope this information will ease your mind. If you have further queries I will be glad to help or if not then can close the query and rate the answer.
