Suggest Treatment For Bumps On The Labia Minora

default
Posted on Tue, 9 Aug 2016
Question: I recently discovered what could be a knick from a razor or possibly an ulcer on my labia minora. It is just one swollen little bump. Does not look like the vacuole of herpes. Definitely more like an ulcer or cut. I don't remember cutting anything while shaving but I was tested for all STDs and STIs a week ago and everything came back normal. I still get freaked out by anything unusual or painful in that region. I have made an appt with my gynecologist but that is two days from now. If a blood test for herpes was negative a week ago what is the possibility that something would come up now. Side note I have been with my partner ( same one for six months) once since the original tests were done. I should probably mention that I am a liver transplant patient and on immunosuppressive drugs.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Basically with a negative blood test a week ago chances of it being herpes ate less than 10 percent.
Would you mind uploading clear pics of the area so that I can offer a more definitive opinion.
All the best

As below

Detailed Answer:
Hello
You are absolutely right in the sense that this does not look like a herpetic lesion.
It is not a typical vacuole of herpes at all.
BUt it is not a XXXXXXX from a razor.
It is an ulcer, definitely an ulcer on the labia.
It could be a trophic ulcer or a sore, related to the immunosuppressive drugs.
It should heal on its own in a few days, you might apply some antibiotic on it to hasten the process and prevent spreading of the infection.
Avoid touching or handling the area, and have protected sex or preferably abstain until this resolves.
No it is not herpes.
Take care.

Hello, it has changed a little and now looks white. I did put neosporin on it to help it heal. I also noticed right inside my vagina there are small irritations on each side. It is more red and sometimes there are little patches. I thought i got soap in there while bathing the other day. I have attached the best picture i could take. I also have body stiffness and a fever over 100. Im very scared. I read that herpes can kill transplant patients .

Brief Answer:
Ulcer appears to be healing.

Detailed Answer:
The trophic ulcer is healing over now.
The whitish change is part of the healing process.
The rest of the vagina looks very normal, I can see nothing abnormal.
I am worried about the fever and stiffness though.
Herpes is bad in transplant patients, you mentioned a gynec appointment , right ?
Ask your doctor to swab the ulcer anyways for herpes, but I am pretty sure it is a trophic ulcer which is now healing.
Prayers for you
