Suggest Treatment For Bruises On The Legs After Suffering A Wasp Sting

default
Posted on Fri, 30 Sep 2016
Question: Is it normal to have bruising on the extremity where a wasp sting occurred? There are several bruises about 2-3 inches across parts on the leg and foot of my husband. He only had one sting a few days ago on the same leg.

Brief Answer:
It is not entirely unexpected and raises no red flags!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these bruises that you have reported. While this is not always the case, it occurs when the inflammatory reaction as a result of the sting is intense. This will slowly resolve and needs no specific treatment beside exercising patience and monitoring for any other symptoms if they do occur. If possible, kindly upload an image for review to me.
