Suggest Treatment For Bruises On Legs

default
Posted on Sat, 2 Apr 2016
Question: I have marks on my legs similar to bruises but aren't. They look like ulcers that have healed but they were never ulcers. I am a diabetic and have been told that my valve doesn't work properly in my legs. Could this cause the marks?

Brief Answer:
Marks on Legs / Under Evaluation

Detailed Answer:
Brief Ans-Marks on Legs / Under Evaluation

Hi Dear,Thanks for your query to HCM.
Read and Reviewed facts of your query with the pictures of your Leg Marks.
My Impression-
Based on facts of your query, you seem to have early indications suggesting Varicose Veins.
Kindly provide more information regarding the report about your leg valves.

Q-Could this cause the marks?
Ans-Prima facie your Leg Marks appear to be from non-working of vein valves in your legs.

I would wait for more details from you and scan copy of -Colour Doppler if done.

Welcome for any further query in this regard.

Brief Answer:
Consider Assessment after Colour doppler with Vascular Surgeon...!!

Detailed Answer
hello there, welcome back.
Thanks for the update query.
Read and reviewed it,in context to your leg mark picture.
I would suggest you to assess your case with colour Doppler Study of the Leg Veins- both long and Short Saphenous System of Veins.
Hence a detailed assessment after Colour Doppler Study with your Vascular Surgeon is recommended.
Though these leg marks suggest early Failure of your leg vein circulation, hence I would suggest you to evaluate these leg veins and take proper treatment from your Vascular Surgeon as soon as possible.

In the Mean While-Following plan would help you to reduce these Marks a little bit, but would not cure it....
Rest / Elevation
Avoid long standing jobs.
Take breaks if needed to avoid worsening of the leg Marks.
Cap Daflon 500 mg x 3 times-a Venotropic drug, under cover of Vascular Surgeon, to improve the Venous insufficiency in legs.
Supporting Veno-Stocks would reduce the fast worsening of these leg marks.
Urgent Colour Doppler study of leg veins in both legs.

Please update Me why you are on Fruesemide? who has prescribed you? Or you taking on yourself? For what problem you are taking it?

Keep Me updated with these reports for further suggestions after a week.

To answer you questions: Fruesemide? who has prescribed you? Or you taking on yourself? For what problem you are taking it?

My family doctor prescribed Fruesemide. The drug is to help with the problem of swollen feet and calfs. I am retaining fluid in my feet and calfs so my family doctor prescribed the Fruesdemide.

Thank you very much for answers to my questions.
Sincerely and Namaste, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Better review fruesemide after Colour doppler ....!!

Detailed Answer:
Brief Ans-Better review Fruesemide after Colour doppler and Consults from Vascular /or General Surgeon....!!

Hello there, Thanks for the updates on Fruesemide.
Based on review of pictures of your leg ,I am of the Opinion that, You need to review Fruesemide,as it requires Consultation from General Surgeon / or from Vascular Surgeon.

Also I would suggest you to asses your obesity, which you seem to have.
For this I would suggest you to have Blood Sugar-fasting and postprandial / and Thyroid functions - for hypothyroid functions, which needs to be ruled out in your case.
Obesity needs to be corrected simultaneously, along with treatment planning for Incompetent Varicose Veins you have.
By the way what's your weight and height? as you seem to be obese and that would affect the treatment plan for your Varicose Veins.
I think you forgot to update on that, if you have any colour doppler done?

Keep Me updated on this and more info,so as to help you plan further care in your legs and its Marks.

Welcome for any further query in this regard.
