Brief Answer:
It will take about a week to get resorbed

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query. Bruises occur when subcutaneous blood vessels get disrupted. They can be painful. Application of Heparin gel (Over the counter) should help in quicker resolution but it can take a week for the blood to get resorbed. In the meantime there can be multiple color changes between purple, brown, greenish and bluish. You need not worry about that.

What concerns me is whether there is any injury to underlying structures. Unfortunately this cannot be commented upon without a thorough clinical examination. So, if apprehensive you will have to visit a doctor and get yourself examined to rule out any bony injury.

Let me know if I could help further.

Regards
