Suggest Treatment For Body Pains, Nausea, Fatigue And Diarrhea

Posted on Tue, 4 Aug 2015
Question: I have had the flu three times since March. At least I think it is the flu. Severe Body aches, Nausea, fatigue, bad taste and smell in my nose and mouth, diarrhea.

Even when I was feeling better the smell and taste were still there.
Just wondering if this could be something other than the flu? I am very healthy and never get sick until just recently.

Brief Answer:
Probably 'flu' like diseases

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I couldn't possibly talk about the diseases you had, since I have no solid information about them besides this short description.

Getting sick 2-3 times per year is expected for almost every active individual that comes into contact with a lot of people. We expect most of these infections to last for a few days only.

Serious causes of frequent infections are usually accompanied by protracted courses that may require hospitalization.

Perhaps you came into contact with diseased individuals in a bus, at work, etc

I hope you find my comments helpful!

Kind Regards!

The flu has lasted for about 5 days this time. I had it for about 5 Days in March. When I got it in April it would go away for a few days and come back. I had very low energy. The bad taste in my mouth and the horrible smell has been consistent since April. My friend has had it off and on since December. Her doctor says it is a super flu. I am just wondering could these symptoms be something other than the flu?

Brief Answer:
just common infections

Detailed Answer:
5 days is the expected duration for most viral illnesses of the upper respiratory tract. Your symptoms are consistent with the diagnosis of a viral infection, although a bacterial pathogen cannot be excluded. Recurrences after only a few days, may indicate sinusitis, which is usually a complication of common cold. Mild cases get better by themselves. More severe cases will require antibiotic treatment.

So in conclusion, I don't believe that you have had anything more than a few common upper respiratory tract infections. These symptoms cannot be attributed to anything else, taking into account the duration each time.

Kind Regards!
