Suggest Treatment For Body Cramps And Headaches

default
Posted on Thu, 9 Apr 2015
Question: I go for regular walks to do shopping. rain or shine. Recently, I have developed a core body cramp that normally I resolve with ASA. this time i'm using Acetaminophen 500mg tabs. However, this cramp is lingering and its like I pulled a muscle only is doesn't hurt, just a twinge when I bend or twist-move. I checked my heart and it's ok. I don't get diziness or anything. No headache. Maybe I am overweight 6'3" and 240lbs but I am always active. Could have eaten something wrong, but my bowel movements are regular/ok. normally in past with overexertion it has gone away after two/three days. This one is now closer to a week. Have had dental problems recently, lost a couple of teeth, maybe connected ?

Detailed Answer:

Hi
Thanks for your query

I'm Dr Sudhir Kumar

I have gone through your query and understand your concern. You have muscle cramp. As you are always taking ASA and it get relieved so this time also you should take ASA. You can also try muscle relaxant such as thiocholchoside. If it hurts then you can take analgesic and anti inflammatory such as ibuprofen. These cramps are generally due to vitamin and trace elements deficiency so it will be beneficial to take vitamin and trace elements supplements. You can get your vitamin D level and if found low you can take supplements of vitamin D3. These cramps seems unrelated to your dental and teeth problem. It doesn't seem to be related to eating wrong. It is likely to be related to overexertion.

You can discuss with your doctor about it.

Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then I will be happy to help you.

Wishing you a good health.
Take care.
