Suggest Treatment For Blisters That Form On My Inner Thighs

Posted on Mon, 16 Mar 2015
Question: I have blisters that form on my inner thighs. This usually happens in the week before my period. They are watery and very painful to the touch; once healed they leave skin discoloration. I awoke this morning to a rather large water blister on my front pubic area. What do you think it could be? I am a 42 yo with an 8 month old baby.

Brief Answer:
Need to rule out blistering diseases

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I understand your concern regarding your skin problem and I hope I am able to help you in the same.
Blistering over the skin folds especially groin region needs to be evaluated carefully to rule out skin blistering autoimmune diseases.
In most cases ,a skin biopsy has to be taken from an intact skin blister .
So I would advise you to avoid rubbing or scratching the area and see a nearby dermatologist soon so that proper check up and further evaluation can be done .
For the time being ,keep the affected area clean and dry . Apply a topical antibiotic cream like neosporin or mupirocin over the affected area twice daily .

Did you get a look at the pictures? Does this look like any type of STD?

Brief Answer:
Lesions don't look like any std

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

Yes ,I have seen the attached pictures .
The lesions do not appear to be related to any sexually transmitted disease .
Only herpes presents with fluid filled blisters but in case of herpes, the lesions tend to develop in groups and they come up in the same area every time .
As told earlier ,the possibility of a blistering disease is more in your case ,hence an assessment by a dermatologist is essential .
