Suggest Treatment For Blisters On The Penis

default
Posted on Mon, 27 Mar 2017
Question: I was masturbating a week prior to having unprotected sex and did so three days afterward. On the third day after the unprotected sex, I developed some small blisters on the ring of my penis. Maybe 4 or 5 small white fluid filled. I had soreness on the blister but no where else. Also, I was exposed to someone with flu symptoms prior to the sex. Anyway, I had the blisters and then came down with flu symptoms such as headache and was very tired. No lymp node enlargement or fever. My question is could I have blisters due to the masturbation or is it herpes? I should note my hygene was not the best prior to the sex. I had on the same jeans a few weeks,

The blisters are now 6 days old. The lady I had sex with was tested 2 years ago for STDs with negative results and says she has not had sex since then. I did not notice any blisters on her during sex.

The lady is having a blood test done tomorrow.

Brief Answer:
This sounds like herpes

Detailed Answer:
When you are first exposed to herpes, which is a very common virus, and get an infection, it is called a 'Primary outbreak'. With these first infections, the classic presentation is a flu-like illness and painful blisters. Also, the incubation period is as short as a few days after the primary exposure. If the blisters (or the ulcers that occur after the blisters open) are still present, then YOU need to go in to get these checked and cultured. No, these are not from masturbating and I believe they are related to the unprotected intercourse. And no, it is not due to poor hygeine.

Just to sort this out further, YOU should have:

1. Blood work to see if you have antibodies to HSV1 and HSV2. These labs, depending on the results, should then be repeated in a few months
2. The culture of the current lesions
