Brief Answer:
You may need to see a neurologist

Detailed Answer:
Good afternoon and thank you for your question on this network.

There could be a couple of things to consider with a symptom of "uncontrollable" blinking of the eyes. One very common type of issue is called BLEPHAROSPASM. This is when the eyelids and even muscles about the eye (in the orbit of the head) have rapid contractions which are involuntary. Blepharospasms are a subgroup of abnormal movements involving the eyes or eyelids and muscles about the eye in a larger category of problem called DYSTONIA which means abnormal muscle tone. Usually dystonias cause contractures of parts of the body. They are generally treatable by discovering either the cause or if no cause is obvious then, the affected muscles can be injected with BOTOX.

If it blinking becomes more severe then, the eye can actually go shut. It usually only affects only one eye but in some cases can involve both eyes. The condition is easily diagnosed by observation and by also ruling out any other possible pathology that could be causing this problem such as a tumor, aneurysm, bleed, or blood clot in the brain. It is unlikely you suffer from the latter 2 problems since those would amount to strokes and I think you would've been very aware of other symptoms had that occurred. However, the 1st two problems in the list would need to be ruled out by an MRI and MRA of the brain.

If I've adequately answered your questions could you do me a huge favor by CLOSING THE QUERY and being sure to include some fine words of feedback along with a 5 STAR rating if you feel my answers/suggestions have helped? Again, many thanks for posing your questions and please let me know how things turn out.
