Posted on Fri, 28 Nov 2014
Question: I took my son to doctor on tuesday last week. He said it was bacterial and could give him anything and that it had to work its way out of his system. He also stated that it would take 7 days. His temp got up to 104 by Friday last week and called his doctor. He did not respond and decided to take him to emergency. He was not drinking, would not swallow liquid tylenol and just cry. His month smelled foul. ER doctor gave him antibotics and sterolid shot. He has gotten better but now his gums are bleeding. Very red and still and 125 amoxicilian

Brief Answer:
I agree that this is concerning

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

The bleeding gums can be a sign that there are serious problems going on.

A 19 month old should not have bleeding gums. I am sorry that your pediatrician is not concerned, but I do believe that you should take the baby back to the ER.

Best regards
