Suggest Treatment For Black Eyes With Itching After Injury

Question: My wife fell and hit her Right frontal bone superior to her eye. No LOC, blurred vision, headache, etc but has now a black eye which itches. We've been a plying cold packs and giving Ibuprophen. Any other advice?

It sounds like you are doing all of the recommended supportive care at this time. I would continue to use ice packs to the affected area for the next 24 hours. I would then transition to warm moist heat after that.

Instead of ibuprofen I would recommend using Tylenol as ibuprofen might contribute to more bruising. Try to use the Tylenol for the next couple of days and then you can go back to ibuprofen after that.

Monitor forother symptoms including blurred vision or double vision, nausea or vomiting. If any of that develops she needs to be seen by her doctor soon as possible.
