Brief Answer:
Condylomas, abscess, polyp, see Dr

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query,

A proper physical examination from your doctor would identify the cause and severity of such a mass.

However, knowing a few things with regards to how it started, whether it is the first time, whether the mass is painful or not and any history vaginal discharge, pain on urination or sexually transmitted infections would be useful.

In case the mass is very painful, it might be an abscess. Treatment would imply an incision and use of appropriate antibiotics.

In case the mass is not painful, this could still be a cold abscess. Common painless masses found in the vagina are mainly polyps and condylomas. A condyloma is a painless mass caused by an infection for human papilloma virus.

Treatment involves surgical removal usually on local anesthesia and a special therapy called cryotherapy.

A review for your doctor will save time and accord timely treatment. You really not be so bothered.

Kind regards,

Brief Answer:
Probably abscess. But needs Dr's Confirmation

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the follow up question,

If it hurts, the option of an abscess is the most probable under these circumstances then. It is important to get it examined. A needle aspiration could be done to check if pus comes out. Depending on the stage, an incision can be made and drained, or antibiotics and some analgesics could be prescribed for a given period of time.

I suggest you meet your primary care Dr. An abscess needs to be carefully excluded in this case. It is generally not serious. Infection of specific lubricant secreting glands in the vulval and vaginal areas are common. These are generally called Bartholins glands. Abscesses and infected cysts are seen in common practice. Treatment is very easy, so no worries.

Brief Answer:
Possible, thrush yes, exclude Trichomonas vaginali

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the update,

Itches generally accompany thrush. However, thrush generally does not produce tender lumps. It is however possible for thrush to be an additional condition , added to the lump disease.

It is easy to be diagnosed , clinical with whitish discharge and whitish membranous formations on the vaginal region and itches would be very compatible with thrush.

Other causes of itches like Trichomonas vaginalis infections should be considered. A vaginal swab generally gives the pathogen that could be causing the itches. In case of Trichomonas however, a fowl smelling greenish yellow vaginal discharge is usually seen.

Thanks and kind regards,

Dr Bain
