Question: Hello I just sent this to a psychiatrist on this site. But as I cannot see a neurologist fir a while due to xmas and busy schedule i was hoping you can rule out this for me. I just want to know want this symptom could be.
Its hard to explain but ill try
When im around my family and there talking its like there voices seem distant or at times if im around more than one person there voice sort of echoes in my head seems like it goes deep in my body and I get jumpy like a fright. Or after they talk and goes silent whatever someone just said I like repeat what they said and picture there voice saying it in my head.
And when im not focused and there talking after a few minutes I say did you just say that.
If its anything neurological in the brain can it be fixed.

Brief Answer:
It does not seem a neurological concern.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.

I have been through your question and understand your concern.

As I see your problem, it seems a functional disturbance which means apparently not related to any brain damage. Still a neurological consult should be scheduled to have a neurological objective examination to rule out any organic issue which would need additional examinations, like MRI.

In your case, it is very important you do not hear voices that do not exist which are called verbal hallucination. This generally excludes schizophrenia. If this is the case it is a temporary condition, but still you might need some treatment meanwhile. For the treatment you should talk to the psychiatrist.

Hope this helps. Please feel free for further questions.

Brief Answer:
you do not need an MRI at this moment

Detailed Answer:
Hello. In my opinion there is no need for an MRI unless you show other signs (beside the actual complains) which should be evaluated by a neurologist. To me the situation seems temporary. But still, need a psychiatrist consult, which is your next step.
