Brief Answer:
ADHD can't be cured but can be treated

Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for asking from HCM

ADHD or attention deficit hyperactive disorder is a psychiatric disorder of childhood and it can be seen in adults. The symptoms of hyperactivity and inattention can improve with medicines and psychosocial methods. With proper treatment individuals can learn to lead normal life but I am afraid there are no such treatments which we can label as permanent cure.

ADHD of children show complete remission in a lot of individuals with advancing age.

Medicines like stimulants as Amphetamines as methylphenidate, adderall are used. These drugs help in improving attention and decrease impulsivity. But these are having abuse potential so are prescribed in controlled conditions only.

Non stimulant medicines like Atomoxetine can also be used in ADHD. The drug have almost similar results as amphetamines but free of abuse potential. It has good results in adult ADD also. Other medicines like Bupropion, Clonidine have also good results

Proper behaviour therapy in childhood and cognitive restructuring in adults help to improve desired behaviour and to decrease inattention.

If a patient is given proper treatment then decrease in symptoms is seen in about 6-8 weeks and patients start showing improving performance in academics and in work place.

Hope this helps you, if you are having more doubts regarding ADHD and its treatment you can ask again.

Thanks
