Question: I have paroxysmal a fib with rvr. I get it 3 or 4 times a year. I always convert back on my own in less than 20 minutes. what is the likely hood that my afib will progress to a more permanent form of a fib?

Also if it does at some point stop converting on its own, how long do I wait to seek treatment? Also how long can it stay at a rapid rate before I need to seek trestment? my rate is usually about 160 but has gone as high as 250bpm. also will vagal manuvers help with afib?

Brief Answer:
You have great chances to stay at this stage for longer.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.

There is no strict rule in determining your atrial fibrillation to turn into a permanent fibrillation.

In your case, it seems that you are well stabilised with only three episodes per year. You have great chances to stay at this stage for longer.

No specific treatment is advised apart aspirin.

Hope it was of help!
