Question: I have serious pain in my fingers, neck and low spinal column.
The doctor said it is arthritis (arthritis).
What can I do against this horrible pain?

Well pain could be due to many reasons. Could you answer a few queries so we can conclude the diagnosis:

1. What is the nature of the pain..is it constant or intermittent

2. Do you witness any swelling of the joints as well

3. How about early morning stiffness..is it present?

4. Does your neck pain and backache worsen in the nights or is it better

5. Any skin problems?

6. Which all joints are affected at the moment

it is in the back and fingers constant, but become serious when walking and working with my hands. The neck is contant and has radiation to the fingers.( C5?).
Yes, I have swelling in my finger joints.
It is always difficult to get out of my bed. Especially the back is affected.
During the night it is better, laying in a comfortable special bed.
During the night the pain in the fingers waken me up.
No skin problems>
All finger joints except the thumbs.

good evening. well the sort of pain you are describing does look like it may be heading towards arthritis. the exact diagnosis,we need to decide. the swelling present in any joints is a cause of arthritis. if you have undergone any tests do let me know about it. or else I can prescribe you a few which you need to get it done.

I do want to see:
1. esr
2. crp , 25 hydroxy vitamin d 3 levels
3. rheumatoid factor
4. anti cup antibody
5. HLA b 27( PCR)

6. x ray of both hands ( ap and lateral view)
7. x ray of chest
8. x ray pelvis ap view

do let me know about these. we can reach a diagnosis with it

if the pain killers havent worked, you may need a stronger medication like low dose of steroids. But let me see your results and then we can decide .

Do read about Spondyloarthopathy on google and see if your symptoms fit into it.
