Question: I'm am suffering from extreme stress and anxiety. I can only take two bites of food then feel full and it's hard to swallow. I feel like food is stuck in stomach or upper intestines. I had some drier stools which I used some laxatives and prunes for. I can't pass gas... feel real uncomfortable and stressed. Please advise.

Brief Answer:
Physical examination- investigation - Psychiatrist

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
It is difficult to say which symptoms started first, either the stress and anxiety OR the ones related to food and intestines.
Both can be cause of each other.

I would like to ask a few questions before I start:
Since how long you have these problems?
Did this start as stress and anxiety as a initial/ starting problem ?
Or started as symptoms related to food and intestinal problem?

As a medical methodology, we would always want to concentrate on the physical problems you have: like you explained- feeling on fullness on even 2 bites and feeling of food getting stuck, dry stools, inability to pass gas.
I would like to have the following examinations done if not yet done:
*Blood: routine tests, Thyroid function tests, blood sugar, kidney function and liver functions.
*Urine : routine , microscopy.
*Stool : Routine, microscopy, occult blood.
*Ultrasonography of abdomen
*X-ray of the chest
*Upper GI Endoscopy.
* Any other tests which a Doctor may feel like after doing a clinical / physical examination on you.

The treatment will be solely dependent on the clinical findings and the reports of the investigations along with that for your anxiety / stress.
If you get better with the treatment, anxiety would definitely get corrected on its own.

If all the above investigations are within normal limits and the clinical examination does not reveal anything certainly I would like you to be referred to the Psychiatrist with a detailed note about the findings. He/ She would treat you accordingly.
With the proper treatment all your physical symptoms should improve on its own.

I had kind of a breakdown a month ago...and that is when I would get slight nausea loss of appetite etc. BEFORE I was eating ok and bowels were ok. I went to doctor had cbc and all came back ok and I had urine test which was ok. last month I was real stressed couldn't eat for a week. I got my appetite back a little better but still was not eating to what I was normally eating. Cause all doctors ive been to say i gave extreme anxiety. I just got real stressed from my job last couple of days again which is when my stomach and bowels started changing. I am anemic and my gyro who gave me pap ultrasound etc all came back normal recently put a merina iud inside to control heavy bleeding. I had been stressed about that cause I don't like the idea if a foreign object inside me but I have no choice. As I type to you my back is real tight and my neck is real tight. Muscles tight everywhere. Since thus anxiety I would have loose stools or drier back and forth. I may have ibs. I am going to a therapist today.

Brief Answer:
Get stress and anxiety treated by a Professional

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your elucidate feedback.
It is so self-explanatory.
Once the stress and anxiety are anxiety are controlled the physical symptoms will automatically get improved to become normal.

In spite of getting a symptomatic treatment for the physical symptoms I would advise and request you to consult a Physician or still better a Psychiatrist to get over the original causative factor.

You should cone out of the vicious cycle of Psychological -> somatic -> psychotic -> somatic problems . Each adding to another one. Break the cycle fast and your life will be normal.
At the same time you have to be strong enough to fight this problem of anxiety and stress. Get an off for a few weeks from the job id required for betterment.
