Suggest Treatment For Anal Fissure And IBS

Question: Sir i am suffering from anal fischer and ibs.. last year i underweant an apendix removal operation.. present discomfort is mainly due to heavy itching at anus day and night.. i am prescribed with candid b by local doctor ,, is it adviceable to put it on anus?
Further, is real treatment available for anal fischer and IBS? can you suggest?

Anal fissures usually resolve with correction of IBS.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,

I understand your concern.

Yes, you can apply candid b around the anus.This will offer quick relief.

IBS causes bowel disturbances predominantly constipation which may lead to Anal fissures as in your case.

So IBS should be treated first which can correct your Anal fissure to a large extent.

I generally prescribe patients with IBS a short course of anxiolytics and Isphagula husk (once spoon mixed in water at bed time daily ).So discuss with your doctor if he shares with my opinion and prescribes the same.

This therapy will alone be helpful in most cases.

Dietary management with high fiber diet and fruits like apple and pomegranate will be helpful.

Avoid straining of stools.
