Suggest Treatment For Acute Reflux And Esophagitis
Question: Hello Doctor, For last 17 days , Iam having acute reflux and acute esophagitis. I have a long history of suffering from hyper acidity, reflux, gastritis, and deoditinis.It has been there for nearly 15 yrs. Iam often on medication. now i take kyrab D , mebiz sr, heptaguard and ursocal for fatty liver. My SGOT, SGPT liver function test results are in the range of 60 to 70. i have taken plenty of endoscopy for last 15 yrs. The last 4 or 5 endoscopy results showed reflux and gastritis. The recent one I took 8 months back. That was normal.But recently in XXXXXXX 1st week I had loose motion, because continously I was on outside food.Loose motion got settled after I took immodium tablet. I did not take any antibiotic for that. But immediately after that for past 17 days my stomach is paining, in the centre of stomach in food pipe region. And there is slight pain in throat and nose too. There is pain in both the nostrils. And there is slight difficulty in breathing.It is as if my nose is blocked slightly. I have been on a bland diet for last 15 days. But the problem persists.Iam perturbed because inspite of my medication the problem continues.There is no difficulty in swallowing food as such.But I dont feel hungry at all. Normally I am a good eater, but because of this issue I consume only 60% of what I normally eat. So because of this i have lost 2 to 3 kgs weight in 17 days.Is this issue serious. Iam very perturbed that whether there is any food pipe cancer or stomach cancer. or just is it mild ulcer and deodinitis, reflux problem.Last endoscopy i took on October. That was normal. So what do I do . Do iI have to go for another endoscopy or any other tests.Or is this medicine Kyrab D, Mebiz sr, Ursocal and Heptaguard sufficient.

Read and understood your history well. You are suffering from GERD and associated problems for the last 15 years.Undergone multiple Endoscopies and the latests one was in Oct.
You took Immodium for loose motions due to outside foods and the problem resurfaced.
This problem must have been Gastroenteritis but antibiotics were not taken.
No worried about cancer of the stomach or esophagus as lost some weight.
The medicines you are taking are good:
Kyrub-D, Mebiz SR and Reflux Forte Syrup. to be taken at appropriate time.
You have to take reflux Forte Syrup particularly when you are empty stomach to give a coating to the esophagus and stomach.
Rest of the medicines can wait till you get control over the GERD.
I would suggest you the following:
Get the stool checked and if still the report says infection or so, get treated accordingly.
Upper GI Endoscopy if there is no relief. Helps in ruling out cancer also.
Another way is to go for CT scan of the chest and the abdomen to rule out the cancer.
Control of the stress and anxiety are very important.
You are already on bland diet, try to take at least 4 times a day.
No late nights.
No immediate sleeping after dinner- walk around.

Does sligtht breathlessness and pain in throat and nostrils indicate anything abnormal doctor? Can I travel doctor. I have to go out of station for 3 days from tommorrow. Is it advisable or is the situation serious that I have to cancel my travel.Can I take the diagnostic tests next week or should it be taken immediately.
