Question: Hello doctor .I'm a 40 yr old female with acute hair fall since last couple of years . I had consulted a dermatologist who prescribed XXXXXXX xl and Keraglo XXXXXXX for 2 months last year , but discontinued it after completion of the course. After that I did not follow up the treatment since hairfall had not stopped . Pls.suggest a treatment to effectively stop my hair fall and promote regrowth . The front , crown , occipital and sides of my head are the worst affected areas. All my sisters have thick hair , except for my mother who is 65 and has thinning hair due to age and frequent colouring . I do not XXXXXXX or use any chemicals except the occasional XXXXXXX .Please help me in this matter and give me a realistic and long term solution to the problem .
Thanking you .
Regards
XXXX

Brief Answer:
hair transplant is eventually needed

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX

I can understand your concerns.

The treatment given by the dermatologist should have prevented the hair fall.

It means that you are resistant to medical treatment.

People who are resistant to medical treatment will eventually need artificial hair transplant.

It is a good option and i will advise you to seriously consider it.

Dear Dr. XXXXXXX ,
Thank you for your prompt reply . Before I even consider hair transplant , is there any other oral and applied treatment I need to consider first ? Perhaps I was too hasty in discontinuing my previous medication of XXXXXXX glo XXXXXXX tabs and XXXXXXX xl hair serum . Should I continue the same for a year to see results ? Pls.suggest , as hair transplant is not an option for me .
Thanking you.

Brief Answer:
You can try for one year.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX

Yes you can try it for a year and if it works then its good.

These drugs take some time of usage before they start showing results so trying for a longer time is an option especially if you do not want transplant.
