Brief Answer:
"Keratosis pilaris"aka"follicular keratosis":various suggestions & guidance

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.

I can understand your concern for the eruptions over your arms and upper trunk.

After reading your query thoroughly and analyzing all the pictures let me guide you that this condition is "Keratosis pilaris".

This is also known as "follicular keratosis" which is a common condition affecting hair root and is clinically seen as red to brownish rough bumps on the skin of back and outer sides of the arm and even forearms.

To tell you simply regarding this condition: This is caused by the blockage of the pores by the hard plug known as keratin. This keratin is actually the dead skin of our body and the opening of the oil glands and hair roots are blocked by its accumulation.

I reassure you full that this is quit common condition and is not related to anything serious. This is most often seen in young adults of your age group.
It can be very well treated by use of keratolytic agents such as salicylic acid and topical retinoids under medical advice. Moisturization also helps in reducing them well. If at all these are not getting better then I generally start with oral therapy.

You can meet a dermatologist and get these medicines prescribed for earliest relief. I reassure you fully that this is quit common condition and is not related to anything serious and can be managed easily.

Hope this information will help you. I will be glad to guide you any further.

“With good health wishes”
