Suggest Treatment For Acne And Pimples
Question: I am 31 and have recently developed problem of acne/ pimple in last 2 yrs or so. I understand that is hormonal. However, I tend to develop scar after the pimple/ acne is gone irresepective of the fact if I pop it or not. I neither want to opt for any steroid medication nor any laser treatment. Hence, could you please suggest any simpler remedy (ointment/ tabs etc)

Hi
I understand your concern regarding your skin problem and I hope I am able to help you in the same.
I have seen the attached pictures .
You seem to have developed post acne scars .
Since you have an acne prone skin ,it is good to avoid application of any steroid creams .
You can apply a non steroidal anti acne and skin lightening agent like azelaic acid 20 percent cream over the acne lesions and the post acne dark scars at night .
Remember that you have to apply the medicine only at night ,apply only a little amount over the affected areas . Do not rub the medicine too much ,just apply a little amount and leave it .
Use a medicated sunscreen with spf more than 26 regularly before going out in the sun .Apply it atleast thirty minutes before going out and re apply every three hourly.
This will prevent any further darkening of the scars .
Take oral vitamin c 500 mg tablet once daily for four weeks .
Eat lots of citrus fruits like oranges and fresh salads .
