Question: Hallo. I had my first (and probably last) aclasta infusion five months ago. I have a tooth which has split straight down the middle and although not painful I believe there is an abcess on the root.the dentist wants to take it out but I am afraid of complications in the jaw. please advise.

Brief Answer:
Go for extraction

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and I understand your concern. Your dentist is right and giving you a good suggestion. The only way to combat this abscess involving the roots is to get the tooth extracted with concomitant use of antibiotics. A prophylaxis of antibiotics before extraction is a usual procedure.

Jaw complications are not that common and should not be a reason to avoid this tooth extraction. Do as directed by the dentist. PS the zoledronate has no connection with this abscess .

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and don't forget to close the discussion please.
