Question: When my son jumped on a trampoline he had severed abdominal pain for weeks. It has started again now that baseball season has started. When he began to run, he stated my side hurts again. We are supposed to visit a trampoline park tomorrow and he is afraid his side will hurt again. any idea what is causing/ going on?? And why it last so long after an initial injury?? Worried it could be gall bladder or appendix.

Brief Answer:
Please, can you tell me what his age is?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this pain that your son experienced and its recurrence. Maybe he had a strained muscle and it is not totally healed as of now. My suggestion would be that he avoids excessive and strenuous activities at this time and allow for healing. This doesn't mean that he cannot go on the trampoline but, he should be more gentle with his movements and intensity of plays. I know it might prove very difficult if he is still a kid. However, allow him to exercise to levels that cause no discomfort.

The symptoms are not in a anyway suggestive of appendicitis or gall bladder disease. The onset of this piano an dhow it has been behaving is typical of muscle injury that commonly occurs during sporting events.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
