Suggest Treatment For Abdominal Pain With Fever And Peripheral Numbness

Question: Daughter 42 y/o with abd pain,fever 100.2,sharp abd cramps, p-88-104 today, back ache, chilling, pain rt. shoulder with deep breath. Also says her hands are cold and her left hand is numb. I advised her to go to urgent care-she probably will but has 2 small children and wanted to wait until tomorrow. Her bowels are normal today she said.

I read your question and i understand your concern. Pain in abdomen, difficulty on deep breath, fever, pain referring to back, chills and peripheral numbness should be evaluated ass soon as possible as it could imply multiple causes. Its could be gastric discomfort like GERD or gastritis.

These symptoms are typical of gallbladder involvement and pancreas and these two portals need to be evaluated for cholecystitis and pancreatitis. It needs work up and should not be delayed please as it may have adverse effects. Take some pepto meanwhile and take only fluids till she sees her doctor. If the pain worsens rush to ER.
