Question: I have bad stomach pain, small amount of rectal bleeding, and a high serum uric acid level: 6.4. All of my other labs are normal: CBC, CMP, HA1C, Urine Analysis. The bleeding just started today. The pain has been going on for about a week and I just feel awful.

Brief Answer:
Needs work up and management immediately

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Stomach pain with rectal bleeding is suggestive of some gastrointestinal causes. Immediate assessment to sort out the cause of bleed is necessary. Colonoscopy, upper GI endoscopy and supportive care is advised. Go to ER and let them have a look. Gastritis, ulcerations or lower GI causes needs to be considered like constipation, hemorrhoids, inflammatory bowel diseases.

Uric acid level of 6.4 is still in normal range and does not explain the blood in stool as well as severe abdominal pain. Local GI causes are more likely. Talk to a doctor and let them have a look and work up for the cause.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

Khan
