Suggest Treatment For Abdominal Bloating And Gastritis

Posted on Fri, 28 Apr 2017
Question: Hi, I am writing about an issue thats come up recently. I was on here recently and was told that I had inflammation and gastritis in response to bloating gas and abdominal cramps, I dramatically changed my diet and just eat raw vegatables, fish and juice and water along with mastic gum and licorice supplements and its incredible it completely went away no problem at all. However the last week or so I have felt point tenderness in the right rib cage. Its not severe pain or anything but its more like soreness and if you put pressure on it it feels tender and slightly painful in my ribs and sternum and on my right side flank I feel a specific point where if I run my finger along my side there is something like a bump that is tender when toucing and less so but sometimes on points of my upper abs below the rib cage. Its like a heavyness like my right side ribcage is larger, heavier than my left side. My body kind of feels twisted and my back feels misaligned. It responds somewhat to pain creams and sometimes its not apparent and sometimes its more apparent. I do get occasional pains in my chest which last a second and go away and sometimes it feels tight. I cant pintpoint a specific point but Its a twisting tight heavy feeling in the ribs, sternum and side and lesser so in the abdomen. Any idea what it could be? thanks.

Brief Answer:
Can be cardiac or gastric.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Chest heaviness and pain could be caused by both cardiac and gastric cause.Symptoms of bothbalmost overlap each other hence its very difficult to differenciate the cause of pain on the basis of history.

Cardiac pain is very uncommon in young adults unless there is a history of chronic smoking or family history of cardiac deaths.
However as you are already on life style changes for Gastritis i would intially suggest you to go for a test called 2d echo of heart to rule out the possibility of angina.
Once possibility of angina is ruled out treatment can be taken on line of gastritis.
Firstly don't take juices. Most of the juices contains citric acid which worsens the symptoms.
Secondly start taking Rabeprazole 20 mg once daily in combination of Levosulpiride. This is very effective in treatment of Gastritis and GERD.

In case the pain responds to it its gastric and treatment has to be taken along with life style changes for long term.

Regards.

Hi, ok so I am assuming its gastric. I do have heartburn from time to time. In terms of the juices I drink organic beet juice and raw pressed vegetable juice exclusively veggies and cranberry juice no sugar which flushes out toxins and some lime juice for digestion. I dont drink any apple, orange, XXXXXXX or fruit juices. The juices I drink seem to have helped especially the beets I noticed instant relief but I can discard them if neccessary. I dont believe its heart related. I suspect Conchroditis as a possibility because of the pain on the ribs bone and occassional chest discomfort but not sure. I will definitely try to 2 medicines you recommended and see how that works. So just to update the lifestyle changes of eliminating all processed foods sugars along with the mastic gum supplements have eliminated virtually all of the gastritis symptoms this side discomfort feels different than the stomach issues as its isolated and unlike the inflammation it doesnt come with multiple symptoms. Just a question I am a big believer in natural remedies and lifestyle changes and its worked very well. I am very disciplined with my lifestyle right now and can I manage this simply with great diet and exercise as I really dont like to take to many medications because of side effects...etc

Brief Answer:
Follow up answer.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
As per the query regarding costochondritis is concerned its a diagnosis of exclusion. There is no specific test to rule out possibility of costichondritis.Hence other possibilities are to be eliminated initially.
Symptoms of gastritis can be controlled naturally also but a better way is to initially subside acidity by medication and then maintain it at that level by strict life style modification.
The juices you are taking are ok just avoid lime as it is citrus and may increase risk of acidity.

Thanks!
