Suggest Treatment For A Ganglion Cyst On The Wrist

default
Posted on Thu, 7 Sep 2017
Question: I found this pea sized lump on my knee. I checked my other knee and I have a smaller one on my other knee too.
It's feels squishy when I press on them. They do not hurt. I currently have a ganglion cyst on my wrist that has been there for 4 months. Is that what these are on my knees? Can you get them on your knees? I'm scared it's some kind of cancer. I attached a picture.

Brief Answer:
It looks like a Lipoma.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I saw the picture.
It looks like a Lipoma, swelling arising from fat tissue.
It is not cancer.
Ganglion can occur anywhere in the body where there is a Muscle Tendon.
Ganglion is not a Cancer.
Lipoma is also not a cancer.
I prefer to remove the swelling under local anaesthesia and send it for histopathological examination (Biopsy).
Nothing to worry.
Please consult a General surgeon, get examined clinically and proceed accordingly.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions,I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
Regards
