Suggest Treatment For A Fracture Of The Proximal Phalanx Of The Index Finger
Question: My 17 year old son has a small fracture on his left index finger from yesterday. ER doctor said he didnt think surgery is needed but I wanted another opinion.

I have gone through your x-rays, there is an oblique fracture of proximal phalanx of the index finger. The displacement of the fractured fragments is not much. This can heal conservatively with immobilization and strapping. Surgery is not needed.
