Suggest Treatment For A Circular Rash On The Breast

default
Posted on Sat, 2 Jul 2016
Question: Hi I am 46 year old female.. aprox 2+ months ago I noticed a blotchy, red, circular rash on my breast followed by another just below my breast (rib cage area) I thought ringworm and for 2+ months I have tried several antifungal creams Bid and Tid to resolve.. they are slowly increasing in size with no resolve. I do have an appointment today to be seen by NP. there are no lumps and some days they itch other days they feel like warm spots. I'm a bit worried where as today my breast feels warm as a feeling.. not to touch.
hoping this is just dermatitis but my mind fears the worse.. other things I notice is fatigue and my left hips hurts/burns and I feel a lump in the tissue on my right hip ( my husband thinks it is fat tissue) but I never noticed it before... I might just have heightened awareness and notice every little thing now.. but I am concerned... any thought?

Brief Answer:
It looks like dermatitis or fungal infection only.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking HCM

I have gone through your query and picture. It looks like fungal infection or dermatitis only. Fungal infection like Tinea corporis gives such picture. Oral anti fungal will be needed for such case also.
I would suggest oral anti fungal agents like Fluconazole tablets weekly once along with anti fungal ointments like terbinafine or miconazole with combination of potent corticosteroids like clobetasol. Using ketoconazole soap also is good along with this.

If there is no lump or discharge then noting to worry. If there is any symptoms like that then consult a Gynecologist and do ultrasound examination of breast to be on safe side.

Is the tissue you feel lumpy in hip soft?
Is it movable or fixed?
Most likely this can be benign growth like Lipoma which is harmless.

Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.
