Question: My 22 month old daughter has a quarter size blister that just came up within the past hour. Noticed it when we cane back from dinner.she did not have it before as I changed her just before we left. she did eat a half boiled shrimp for the first time.No fever, eating and drinking fine and playing as normal. It does not seem to itch or bother Her. What could cause this? Should we take her to we?

Brief Answer:
The allergic reaction should be ruled out in the emergency room

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

I would like to rule out the allergic reaction to shellfish. There are two types of shellfish Crustaceans(like shrimp, lobster or crab) and Molluskuns(like oysters).
The allergy caused by crustaseans are more severe.

The signs of allergy may be mild to severe like
-Swelling of face,lips,throat,tounge etc
-Abdominal pain,nausea,vomiting,diarrhea
-Tingling in the mouth
-Red hives with or without itching
-Noisy breathing,respiratory difficulty
-Rapid pulse,Dizziness or shock

As there is a preceeding history of shrimp consumption,I would advice to take her to the emergency immediately to rule out allergic reaction and its management accordingly. If it is an allergic reaction, avoidens of all crustaceans and molluskuns in food will be needed.
Wish your daughter good health.
Regards
