Posted on Fri, 27 Mar 2015
Question: Hi,Seven months back i had an abcess near my neck area which i got to know was due to tuberculosis...My doctor asked me to get tested for HIV also...but the result was negative...i had started my treatment and i have been regular with my treatment since that time....I have been taking combutol 1000,R-cinex 600 and benadon 40mg everyday....i also took Pyrazinamide for 4 months but then i stopped taking it...because of my anxiety i took another HIV test and it was negative again but during the starting of the treatment doctor said TB due to abcess near neck is due to that so i was worried and took the test again....I have started working out these days and i go to the gym regularly but i feel very tired these days....i take proper diet and nutrition...i also drink protien shakes...is the tiredness due to medicine? because i got a complete body check up in which i got a low TLC count the range was 4-9 but mine was on the lower side of 3.6

Brief Answer:
Tiredness may be due to tuberculosis, anemia or viral infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
You have history of tuberculosis abscess. You are taking medicine for that. HIV is commonly seen with tuberculosis. In HIV immunity is suppressed and tuberculosis is common in immunosupressed person. SO HIV testing is necessary.

You have gone through HIV testing and it is negative so no need to worry about HIV.

Tuberculosis itself is a cause of weakness and tiredness. So your tiredness may be due to tuberculosis. Tuberculosis can leads to anemia and it cause weakness.
You may have some viral infection and that leads to body ache and weakness. your total count is low and most common cause is viral infection.

No need to big worry. Juts be relaxed. Please send me your reports of complete blood count and liver function tests. So that I can help you further.
Till that take high protein diet and take proper rest.
