Question: my son is 3 years 6 months old. Our paediatrician suggested that we gently stretch his foreskin while he is having bath (to clean) and once in the night with cocnut oil as a lubricant- this will ensure that over the next 12-18 months the foreskin will gradually detach. I have been doing this daily with my son for the past 2 months. Of late I have seen that while my son's foreskin has indeed started retracting more than it used to earlier, when I pull back his foreskin gently, I see a small bulge pop out from the side from under the foreskin when it is stretched. I am a bit concerned as to what this is. There has never been any bleeding or any kind of undue force that I have used. My child also doesnt complain of any pain while urinating or otherwise.
Brief Answer:
It could be serous fluid in 2 layers of Foreskin.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that your 3years old son has what is called as Phimosis from birth and you have been trying to stretch it daily since last 2 months and now you are able to retract it freely. However you have noticed small bulge on one side of the foreskin after retraction..
I shall be happy if you can post me a photograph of his Penis both in normal condition and after retracting his foreskin to help me in making precise comments.
From what you have described it seems to be a collection of serous fluid between two layers of foreskin (Partial Paraphimosis) However this can be confirmed only on clinical examination by a qualified General Surgeon or Urologist.
Please do not worry if it is small, it will get absorbed without any treatment .
Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,
I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
