Brief Answer:
The treatment is beneficial in selected patient

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Idiopathic parkinsons disease is progressive disease and with time the effects of medication decreases and side effects increases.
Deep brain stimulation is effective in many cases if the patient satisfy the inclusion criteria.
The disease should not be responsive adequately to medication, side effects are more, no dementia or other behavioural disorder, no features of parkinsons plus syndrome.
Many centers are providing the dbs.
It is a major surgery but at good center and experienced neurosurgeon the outcome is good.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
