Question: I was diagnosed with Lyme's disease at a hospital emergency room 3 weeks ago with a blood test. I've been taking doxycycline hyclate which was prescribed for 21 days, ending today. I don't have insurance so am looking for an inexpensive to proceed. Do I need to go somewhere for another test to see if the disease is still in my body?

Brief Answer:
Noo test can prove this!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks so much for this query.

There is no test that can prove that you have been cured of the Lyme's disease. This is because the antibodies will always remain in the system even after a successful treatment. You therefore do not need any test for this as none exists and none is recommended for this.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me if need be.
