Suggest Treatment For IBS

Question: Sir....I am 36 years old. For last two- three months I have been suffering from loose motions (Semi solid stools). It starts in the morning immediately after I wake up. Bowel movements come with semi digested stools. Usually it also follows after an hour of breakfast and lunch and then after dinner with a little pain sometimes...So it occurs 4-5 times a day..Got Hemogram, TSH and stool tests done ..Reports are mostly normal.....(ESR is 20...and TSH, ultra sensitive, serum CLIA is 4.85, stool reports shows...dirty brown..semi digested...acidic). Doctor has advised lots of medicines including probiotics since a week...No improvements shows...Used to take milk in the morning with daliya and oats for many years....Now stopped dairy products since last month... Pease advice what to do...?

Welcome To HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I understand your concern.
You seem to be suffering from Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). This is a functional disorder and requires very strict treatment and life style changes for treatment.
I would advice you following:
1. A combination of Pantoprazole and Domperidone.
2. Smooth Muscle relaxant like Mebeverine.
3. To take soft and bland diet.
4. Include yoghurt in diet.
5. Walk after all means.
4. Stop alcohol consumption and smoking in case you do.
