Suggest Treatment For IBS, Gas, Acid Reflux And Diarrhea

default
Posted on Tue, 13 Oct 2015
Question: I have never been formally diagnosed with IBS or anything, but the women in my family have always had what we called "potty issues." It does not take long for us to have use the bathroom after we eat dinner, and sometimes it feels like the food goes right through us. I am used to that, but lately I have been very gasy lately, burping a lot, but the burps are very painful when I am hungry. They feel like acid reflux, and I have been waking up and having diarrhea and light stomach cramping every morning. Maybe the past two or three days. The acid refluxy feeling is maybe 3-4 times a week and is very uncomfortable for the past two weeks. Eating settles it. When should you think gastrointestinal and when should you think stomach cancer.

Brief Answer:
Stomach cancer does not give characteristic symptoms.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Stomach cancer for a very long time does not give any symptoms or gives very nonspecific symptoms. It may be lack of appetite, stomach pain, burping, acid reflux.
So you can never be sure about stomach cancer. But at your age the risk of such cancer is very low.
Your symptoms can be caused by duodenal ulcer (stomach pain which disappears after foods is very characteristic for such condition) and chronic bacterial infection or foods allergy/intolerance (this conditions can be responsible for diarrhea and fast foods passage).

I suggest you to consult gastroenterologist and have gastroscopy done to diagnose ulcers.
For diarrhea treatment you should try to eliminate milky products and spicy products. Start probiotic intake and see if this will help. If not, stool test and stool culture test should be done.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
